I have shown in the elements of my artwork this process, the importance of restoring the connection with family (through our traditional practices – fire & dance), connection to country (spending time on country – the leaves and nature elements of my artwork). I was on country when I did this piece and my natural bush surrounds played a big part of my inspiration. The peace I feel on country for me is the best foundation to start getting up, standing up and showing up for myself first. Our elders holding spears shows our connection to our history and honours their work fighting for our way of life.
Lastly the whole piece altogether including the colours, represents how Getting up, Standing up and Showing up will ensure we have a promising and bright future!
If we can Get Up, Stand Up and Show up for ourselves we can then show up for our Family, Community and Country.
When all these elements work together the result is beautiful. We set the example for our future generations and empower them to do the same!

The right meeting place show the Strength of our young leaders pushing this vision forward and the left meeting place acknowledges the groundwork and Legacy of our ancestors in getting us to where we are today, 50 years on.
The colours show the brightness of our future, and the background elements represent and acknowledge the many journeys and hard work that have been done for our Justice & Equality.
The feet represent the young generation taking us into our future with courage and strength, closely under the guidance (the hands) of our ancestors and elders.

Story: Our Ways – A design for EVERYONE The OUR WAYS piece was created to represent our people, our celebrations and all the events that are significant to Indigenous Australians. Each element in the artwork represents one of the following Reconciliation, NAIDOC, Sorry Day, Our Children, Our Health, Our Education, Closing the Gap, Literacy Day and our Sporting Carnivals. The bright colours show the bright future for our people and the coming together of all Australians embracing this countries Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander history. Every Australian needs to have an Indigenous designed shirt in their wardrobe and the OUR WAYS design is just that! A DESIGN FOR EVERYONE, FOR EVERY OCCASION. Whether you want a beautiful addition to your work uniform, a special event shirt, a Friday shirt or just a casual weekend shirt the OUR WAYS design has you covered.
We no longer have a retail store, all of our products are available online.
Returns/Exchanges - Items purchased can be returned for a new size or if goods are faulty, however they must be returned within 14 days upon receipt of goods and must be unworn, in original condition with tags still on. Unfortunately, we cannot accept worn items. Please send us an email at sales@dezignaimpression.com.au before sending your product back.

Story: This piece represents the recognition that is needed by all Australians to acknowledge our history of the stolen generations - shown through the hands of the children. The trauma - in the dots in many colours that is still present today in families and the generational effect this has had on my people – large family meeting places prominently displayed in day to day lives. Now is the time to ACKNOWLEDGE and to say SORRY.
